How to spot FPL copycats in your money league

Money leagues run on trust. When someone mirrors a YouTuber's team every week, it undermines the competition — and the WhatsApp chat gets toxic fast. Here's how to find copycats with evidence, not vibes.

1. Squad overlap isn't enough

Two managers can own Haaland and Salah without copying anyone. Look at season-long emulation against known creators — and whether transfers land after the creator posts, not before.

2. Transfer timing is the smoking gun

The FPL Similarity Tool proved this years ago: copying the same move hours after a creator changes team is deliberate emulation. Copycat Detective scores this across your entire mini-league in one scan.

3. Captain copycats hide in plain sight

Some managers run an “original” squad but captain the same player as FPL Focal every week. The Captain Copy Index catches this — high captain overlap, lower squad overlap.

4. Run a league scan before you confront anyone

Paste your mini-league ID, pick how many gameweeks to analyse, and share the public report link in your group. Let the data do the talking.

5. Commissioner tools for serious leagues

Season Investigator unlocks named deadline transfer intel and publish links. Pro Detective adds CSV export, accusation letter drafts, multi-scan history, and Sunday ritual — built for leagues with cash on the line.
